Funcie

I don't know if "Funcie" is supposed to mean funny or fun.  I take it to mean fun.  That is why I have a reminder on my car that makes me grateful to live in a fun place.

"What's there to do in Muncie, Indiana?"  I have heard that too many times.  My mind buzzes with all the things there are to do here.

My question is "What is it that you want to do that is not here?"

Muncie has had its share of hard times, but that is what has brought about a forward thrust to have community events, and beautiful places to walk, the arts, the river, the music, and speakers who speak to the questions within.

OK,  so this blog is a list:

Libraries - something going on all the time, lots of computers and books.

Parks - nice ones and closeby a state park - Mounds

White River with its trails and canoeing

Bike trails everywhere

Many many forest preserves - Redtail Land Conservancy

Farmer's Markets

Thursday Night Art Walk (1st Thurs)

Final Friday Art Night at the Museum 4 times a year

Minnetrista Cultural Center

Oakhurst Gardens

YMCAs and many other places to exercise

Friendly churches

Community Choir

David Owsley Art Museum- and many activities

The Orchid Greenhouse

The Glass Museum

Free concerts at Canan Commons

$5 concerts almost every week at Sursa Hall, BSU

Aeronautics Museum

Children's Museum

Cornerstone for the Arts

Mad Jax and new locally owned businesses

Lots of brewerys

The Muncie Time Bank

A downtown with store fronts again

A big geneology library

AA and AlAnon

And on and on.  The ones in bold are FREE.  Best of all there are people helping people.  You can help or be helped.
